WORCESTER'S famous composer had his birthplace revamped.
The entrance to The Firs, Edward Elgar’s birthplace at Lower Broadheath, has been transformed with a vibrant new look after a generous donation from the Elgar Family Trust.
The aim was to make the entrance eye-catching for visitors and passers-by who may have initially just walked past the building, unaware of its history.
Large-scale photographs of the cottage and garden of Elgar’s Birthplace have been merged with quotations from Elgar himself.
The National Trust property is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11am until 5pm, from March until October and again for three weekends in December.
