A WORCESTER man will have to pay hundreds after dodging a £3.70 train fare.
Adrienne Tafft, of Scafell Close, will have to pay a total of £461.70 after failing to show a ticket.
It comes after the 28-year-old boarded a train in Ferriby, near Hull, on September 30 last year.
Tafft took the train to Hessle, around three miles to the east of Ferriby.
Having not purchased a ticket, he was issued a Penalty Fare Notice for either £20 or twice the single fare, whichever was greater.
He was to pay this within 21 days.
However, no payment or appeal was made and so a reminder letter was sent to Tafft.
The fare still remains unpaid and so, at Doncaster Justice Centre North on May 9, he was fined £220.
He must also pay compensation of £3.70 for the ticket as well as costs of £150 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £88.
He must pay the total amount of £461.70 by June 6, 2023.
