IT was recently named as one of the most desirable villages to live in - but people worry a Worcestershire village may soon lose that title.
Ombersley is currently having a new housing development built by Spitfire Homes which will feature 45 homes just north of Woodhall Lane.
For decades the five-acre plot of land was home to a cottage and several outbuildings before they were demolished to make way for the new development.

However, the development has come under some backlash from readers who fear it will affect the village voted one of the most desirable to live in the UK by The Telegraph.
Fonz Walker said: "It's desirable until it's buried under concrete."
And Mike Morris added: "It is now less desirable than it was."

Others highlighted the need for more infrastructure in Ombersley to accommodate the number of new people moving into the area.
Jake Oakley said: "Houses and flats are all well and good, but how about building some schools and hospitals to go with them?"
Tom Pear added: "More people for an overloaded hospital."
Spitfire Homes has committed more than £250,000 to the local area and community support with the main contribution of nearly £125,000 going towards providing education facilities at Westacre Middle School.
Improvements are also being made to Ombersley Tennis Club.
Councillor Judy Goodman, chair of Ombersley and Doverdale Council, said: “Following a very lengthy planning procedure extended because of concerns of both residents and the Parish Council on the size of the development and the number of properties to be built, the Spitfire site in Ombersley is now under construction.
"It is now hoped that as with many of the residents of the Lord Hill Garden development, new residents coming into Ombersley will get involved with the community to help maintain the overall ambience of the parish.”
When it is finished, the development will feature a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes, some of which will be affordable housing.
Wychavon District Council granted planning permission for the Ombersley site in December 2021 despite several objections from Ombersley residents.
They complained that the number of homes proposed for the site had increased to 45 from an initial 25.
Spitfire Homes declined to comment.
