AN ELDERLY woman was left fighting for her life after suffering multiple stab wounds in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Anthony Roberts, 56, of Amber Heights, Green Hill, Worcester, is set to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court today.

Kleve Walk - Sunday, May 7
2AM
Police were called just after 2am on Sunday after a 71-year-old woman was left with multiple stab wounds in Kleve Walk.
A police cordon was established along the riverside path between Copenhagen Street car park and Diglis Parade.
The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. She was in a critical condition.
A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police advise people that Quay Street is also blocked off.
11.15am
Extra officers were on patrol in Worcester city centre after the alleged attack.
Because of the weather and Bank Holiday weekend, lots of people are enjoying a walk along the riverside but are surprised to find a cordon and officers guarding a section of Kleve Walk.
People also reacted to the news and many said they had found the news worrying.
One said: "We've seen the news on the Worcester News website. It is very distressing to hear."
Another person sitting by the riverside said: “We have seen what’s happened and we can’t believe it.
“Police are up there blocking off the pathway.”

3.30pm
Police remove the cordon between Copenhagen Street car park and Diglis Parade.
People can now walk along Kleve Walk.
4.30pm
Police announce they will be carrying out extra patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the community.
They also have a mobile police station set up but reassure people that there is no ongoing risk.
Chief Inspector Brian Gibbs said: "We are treating the incident in the early hours of this morning as an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the wider public.
"However, we understand the impact the concerning nature of this incident has had on the local community and want to let those visiting the city centre this evening know the steps we’re taking to help make them feel safer."
Kidderminster Magistrates Court - Monday, May 8
2am
Antony Roberts, 56, of Amber Heights, Green Hill, Worcester, has been charged with attempted murder, sexual assault, and possession of a bladed article in a public place, West Mercia Police announced.
Roberts was charged in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 56-year-old has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court today.
The 71-year-old woman remains in a critical condition at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
