A MAN has been arrested after a stabbing in Worcester which left one man seriously hurt.
The 42-year-old man was taken to hospital after what West Mercia Police called a 'domestic incident' in Drake Avenue.
Emergency services including the air ambulance were sent to the residential estate at 8am yesterday morning (Thursday, May 4) where two men were injured following a stabbing.
The second man's injuries were assessed by paramedics and he was discharged at the scene.
A 53-year-old has been arrested and remains in custody.
Police said investigations into the assault are ongoing.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "At around 8am yesterday (Thursday, May 4) Officers were called to Drake Avenue, Worcester involving a domestic-related assault on a 42-year-old man who has suffered minor injuries.
"He has been taken to QE Hospital.
"A 53-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody.
"Investigations are currently ongoing."
Midlands Air Ambulance landed in Honeywell Primary School's playing fields in Tudor Way yesterday to attend to the injured.
An eyewitness walking past the scene said: “I just saw loads of police, and they are in hazmat suits and undercover police looking around windows.”
People living nearby said they were alerted to the incident after hearing a helicopter hovering overhead.
Officers in hazmat suits could be seen going in and out of a house in Drake Avenue while uniformed officers were also in the street.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing in Dines Green this morning at just after 8.00am.
"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.
"One man was treated for serious injuries before being taken by ambulance to hospital on blue lights.
"A second man was assessed before being discharged at the scene."
An eyewitness who saw the air ambulance at Honeywell Primary School said: “Everyone was worried it was a school pupil, so the school had to put a letter out to all pupils that the air ambulance was just using the field to land.”
A spokesperson for Honeywell Primary School added: "We are pleased to assist Midlands Air Ambulance in an incident in Dines Green and help our local community."
