Melanie Winterflood, prosecuting at the court on Thursday, (May 4), said the assault which involved a punch and clawing to the victim's neck had not been a prolonged incident, but had not been quick either.

The prosecutor said she understood Ayliffe was suffering from mental health issues at the time, indicating the crown would not oppose a pre-sentence report.

Judith Kenney, defending, said there was considerable background to the case asking for the report.

Chairman of the magistrates bench, Trevor Burgess, ordered the report saying the bench wanted to know more about the defendant.

Ayliffe was told her sentencing would take place at the court on June 23.

The defendant was told she would have to attend in person, Ayliffe replying "I agree".

Ayliffe was given conditional bail including the condition she must not enter Greenford Gardens.

Ayliffe was warned breached her bail conditions could see her arrested and detained in custody.
