"WE cannot have rogue dogs on the streets causing havoc," says a councillor after reports of a dog killing cats in a city estate.
Upset pet owners have reported a Bull Mastiff killing cats around Brookthorpe Close in Warndon.
Police are now dealing with the incident after one devastated owner of a cat killed by the dog said it needs to be muzzled.
Owen Cleary, Worcester City Councillor for Warndon, said he is in contact with the police and is confident they will resolve the issue.
He said: "I am in contact with the local police team to get clarity on this matter.
"I urge anyone concerned or affected to contact the local police who are working hard to resolve the matter and allay public concerns.
"We cannot have rogue dogs roaming the streets causing havoc and I am confident the Warndon police team will get to the bottom of this."

Valerie Gormely said she was heartbroken after her cat was killed by the dog and called for urgent action.
She said: "I do not blame the dog, but the owners need to muzzle it.
"This could have been prevented if it was kept on a tight and short lead."
Another resident of Brookthorpe Close, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed her cat was killed by the same dog.

They said: "It happened on December 28. I had a knock at the door from a neighbour saying that my cat was found dead just over the road from my house.
"I went over to see if it was Ace, and it was. I was completely devastated I’d had him since he was born from my other cat's litter.
"Ace was wary of everyone and everything he was a very timid cat, there’s no way he would’ve gone to attack a dog.
"My little girl was completely heartbroken and kept asking why it happened."
Inspector Tanya Beckett said "The local Safer Neighbourhood Officer for the area of the incidents is managing this.
"He is engaging fully with the community and is considering all legislation and associated strong sanctions which any dog owner in these circumstances could be asked to comply with.
"This current investigation is still in progress and nothing further to report at this time, but I would urge that anyone experiencing any dog-related incident should please report it to the Police."
