POLICE, fire and ambulance were called to a home after reports of a man threatening to jump from a building.

The man, in his 70s, was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with potentially serious injuries, the ambulance service said.

Police, fire firefighters and paramedics were in St Clements Close, Worcester, last night (April 26).

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly after 10.30pm to reports of concern for a man’s safety in St Clements Close, Worcester.

"After assessing the situation, it was left for the ambulance service to handle as we were not required."

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two HWFR crews – one each from Worcester and Malvern Fire Stations – were called at 22:10 on 26 April to a threatening to jump incident at St Clements Close, Worcester.

"A man in his 70s was threatening to jump from a building, and the incident was left with the ambulance service who attended along with the police.

"The incident was marked as pending closure at 00:18."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.38pm to an incident on St Clements Close in Worcester.

"One ambulance attended the scene.

"Upon arrival, we found an elderly man with potentially serious injuries. He was conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.”
