AN author and actor from hit TV series Game of Thrones is coming to an independent Worcester book shop to answer questions.
Clive Mantle is coming to Bored and Bookless in Worcester's Friar Street for a 'Morning with Mantle and Malone' on June 16 at 11am as part of a free event.
Mr Mantle, 65, will be at the shop for an informal Q&A session on 'everything from Casualty to Game of Thrones' and from the Vicar of Dibley to Thomas the Tank Engine.
He played general surgeon Mike Barratt in the BBC hospital drama series Casualty and Holby City in the 1990s, and Little John in the 1980s fantasy series Robin of Sherwood.
Younger audiences may know him from HBO's Game of Thrones as Lord Greatjon Umber, a close ally of Robb Stark. Kit Harington who attended Worcester Sixth Form College and the Chantry School in Martley also starred in the show, playing Jon Snow, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

Mr Mantle played several roles in other Hollywood films such as White Hunter Black Heart (1990) - where the 6ft 5ins plus actor had a brutal fight scene with Clint Eastwood's character - and Alien 3 (1992).
His inspiration to write what is now the first in the series of the Freddie Malone stories came during a trek to the Mount Everest Base Camp for the charity ‘Hope and Homes for Children’ and he has since returned to the Himalayas and completed the Annapurna circuit.
The shop manager Oliver Whyman said though the event was free, places were limited to 30 so he advised people to ring the shop to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Mr Mantle is expected to spend two hours at the shop with a dedicated space upstairs now to host similar events and it is hoped he will also spend some time being photographed with fans and signing autographs.
Mr Whyman described the visit as 'an amazing opportunity for the shop' and his ambition was to host book clubs upstairs.
"We want to become the bookshop to go to for events. We are the only independent bookshops in Worcester. It's massive for the shop - he's such an amazing actor and he's popular with a wide range of age groups for his work," he said.
Mr Mantle got in touch with Bored and Bookless and Mr Whyman said he would be there in person to welcome him to the shop which opened to the public last November.
The shop can be called on 01905 954440 to book a place.
