A desperate search has been launched to find two terminally-ill puppies a forever home.

Worcestershire-based High Hopes Dog Rescue is looking to find foster families to take Wali and Tishk.

The two five-month-old pups have been diagnosed with an incurable heart condition, meaning they may have just months to live.

A spokesperson for High Hopes said: “They are both super happy and really beautiful boys who should have years and years of happiness ahead. Unfortunately, they don’t.

“These boys have not known a family. They have not known cuddles on the sofa or tummy tickles whilst watching the TV.

“They are currently in a very busy foster home where they are not getting the most that they can due to the number of dogs needing care and attention.

“We will absolutely not let their last months be anything other than filled with love and happiness and this is where we need your help.”

Wali and Tishk arrived at High Hopes earlier this month from Portugal.

Their condition was first noticed after they went on a walk, with Tishk seeming a “little off” after.

He was taken to an emergency vet in the middle of the night where he was diagnosed with a grade three to four heart murmur caused by an issue with his heart valves.

Conditions such as this can be congenital and so his siblings were tested too.

His brother Wali was found to have the same condition, while Tishk’s two sisters have been given the all-clear.

High Hopes is now looking for palliative foster homes for the brothers.

“We want the boys to have more than we can offer with the current demand in foster,” added the spokesperson.

“We want them to be spoilt, loved and to have the life they should have for what they have left of it.

“This is sometimes the heart-breaking reality of rescue and we hope we can count on you for support, not for us, but for Wali and Tishk.”

High Hopes is looking for an adult-only home in Worcestershire with people who will be able to travel to the vets in Kidderminster for appointments.

The non-profit organisation is also asking for support with their vet bills.

Their care has so far cost £2,000 and continues to grow each day with medication and scans.
