Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society (EODS) has been nominated for a national award for one of their productions.
The society received a National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) nomination for their May 2022 production The Musical Alphabet.
They have been nominated for Best Concert in District 5 of the NODA West Midlands Region.
The society last won an award in 2019 when they took the title of Best Musical with their production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
The Musical Alphabet marked the society’s full strength return to The Henrician stage after an enforced break due to Covid.
They say that they are now looking to follow up that success with their "finger- clicking May 2023 production" - Broadway and Beyond.
Featuring songs from the likes of Calamity Jane, Shrek, Come From Away, Mary Poppins and Hello Dolly! along with dance routines and staging.
You can also see EODS in A Novel Show on June 24 at Bengeworth Church in a performance specially created for Evesham’s Festival of Words.
In November 2023 they will also stage the comedy musical “Calendar Girls” - based on the hit film of the same name, and with lyrics and music by Take That’s Gary Barlow.
