WORCESTER has the potential to become a vegan hub as more plant-based businesses open up in the city according to some business owners.
Worcester has several vegan places to eat and the city even has a vegan hair salon - The Hair Branch in Sidbury.
And some vegan businesses said the city has the potential to become a vegan hub for people across the country to come visit.
Reishi's, which recently opened up above The Lamb and Flag on The Tything, said the city has the potential to become a vegan hub.
Alex Eaton, Richard Dunn, and Amber Doody work at the restaurant and said: "We think Worcester can definitely become a Vegan hub in the future.
"We’ve already seen lots of new and successful vegan businesses open up in Worcester such as Bento Box, No Frickin Chicken, Golden Glaze and The Hair Branch.
"We also believe that with us located above The Lamb & Flag, we are opening up lots of people’s minds to how delicious and exciting plant-based dining can be, which will help grow the community for the future."
The team said there is quite a big vegan community in Worcester already and believes the community will get bigger.
Miss Doody said: "We know there’s already a large vegan community in Worcester, as we’ve all worked within the vegan scene in Worcester for several years and we’ve watched it grow bigger and bigger and we believe it will continue to do so."
And after only being open for just over a month, the restaurant has had visitors from as far away as Nottingham, Cardiff, Manchester, and Leeds.
Hana Hughes, who is co-founder of vegan food van No Frickin Chicken, also thinks Worcester could become a vegan hub in the future.
Miss Hughes currently travels the country with her partner Paddy Kelly and they will be catering for major events like Glastonbury Festival this year.
But eventually, the team hopes to come back to Worcester and open up a vegan pub or diner and bring more vegan people to Worcester.
She said: "We want to be known all over the UK and then we want to set up a pub or diner in Worcester and bring more people to Worcester.
"Hopefully though, over the years, Worcester will become known as quite a good vegan place to come visit."
