A POPULAR chip shop in Worcester has retained its five-star hygiene rating after a recent inspection.
Bull Ring Chippy, in St John's was highly commended by the visiting inspector during an inspection on Thursday, April 6.
Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was graded as 'Good'.
The cleanliness and condition of the facilities and the building, which includes having an appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene, was also graded 'Good'.

System or checks that are in place to ensure the food is safe to eat and evidence that staff know about food safety was also graded as 'Good'.
The food safety officer also had confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
Anil Pal, manager of Bull Ring Chippy said: " All the team worked really hard to ensure we are keeping to our already high standards.
"We were five-star rated before this so we are happy to retain the rating."
Worcestershire Regulatory Services is responsible for the hygiene ratings for businesses in Worcester.
