SUMMER is just around the corner and many are getting ready to light up their barbecues and get out their sun loungers.
But if your garden needs a bit of TLC then a weekend visit to a garden centre in Worcester may be on the cards.
It is not all lawn mowing and landscaping though - many garden centres offer cafes, play areas and other activities which make them worth a day out.
We have compiled a list of the best garden centres in and near Worcester.
Laylocks Garden Centre
Established forty years ago, this garden centre is a small family-run company on Bromyard Road.
As well as getting the usual garden centre items from this venue, visitors can nip into The Ladybird Restaurant where you can get a gorgeous afternoon tea.
The centre also has a fresh produce farm shop with various vegetables, fruits, pastries, meats and frozen goods.
Worcester Garden Centre
This garden centre on Droitwich Road dates back to the 1920s when the venue was a humble nursery.
Fast forward a century and they are now part of the Blue Diamond group selling everything from garden equipment to clothing and homeware items.
And when your finish, you can wash your shopping spree down with a coffee and cake.
David's Garden Centre by Cherry Lane
This garden centre has many plants to choose from, including indoor and outdoor plants and garden furniture.
David's Garden Cantre is a Cherry Lane branch in Ash Lane, Martin Hussingtree and sells various gifts for people to buy for loved ones.
St Peter’s Garden Centre
Tony Blake, founder of St Peter’s Garden Centre in Norton, first dreamed about creating a wildlife area on the site almost twelve years ago, and in 2021 his son made this a reality.
St Peters Garden Centre is home not just to the classic garden centre items but also to a wildlife farm leaving plenty of fun and games for the family.
The centre has a nature trail, animals and allotments growing crops that thrive throughout the year.
Nuyard Country & Garden Centre
This garden centre is based in Earls Croome near Worcester and provides the local community with equine, pet feed and garden needs.
The centre stocks a wide range of clothing and footwear, landscaping and hardware and daily garden bits you may need.
