CHILDREN will soon be able to enjoy attractions at a country park once again as the council looks for a new provider.

Bosses at Worcester Woods County Park, on Wildwood Drive, are looking to reintroduce attractions through a new provider after rides were removed earlier this year.

The country park is looking to license a 1250m² area to a third party that will run a self-contained outdoor activities section.

In February, we reported that the children's rides at the country park had officially been removed.

For the past twelve years, families have enjoyed a crazy golf course, wildlife-themed bouncy castle, and miniature train rides.

Depending upon the scope of the proposed activities, planning permission may be required.

According to Worcester Woods Country Park, the outdoor venue has approximately 800,000 visitors per year.

Renting the site could cost about £6,500 per year, and interested parties will have access to 240-volt power at the site.

Catering will not be allowed as part of the proposals, as The Orchard Cafe already operates at the country park.

Interested parties are asked to contact Rob Stevenson,  countryside sites officer, at rstevenson@worcestershire.gov.uk, by 5pm on Tuesday, May 30.

Following the application process, there will also be site visit opportunities and an interview/selection process.
