PEOPLE who are 'easily offended' are being told to stay away as a controversial comedian comes to Worcester.

Royston Vasey, best known as Roy 'Chubby' Brown, is set to perform at Huntingdon Hall on Thursday, April 27 and Friday, April 28.

Despite the warning, the audience does not seem to be put off as there are only a few tickets left for both days.

The comedian urged people to "stay away if easily offended" and ticket holders must be aged 18 or older.

A spokesperson said: "Roy Chubby Brown may not be everyone’s cup of tea but a lot of people like tea!"

The comedian is best known for performing widely controversial comedy, wearing multi-coloured outfits and his trademark aviator hat.

Although Roy performed in Worcester last year in March, his tour was cancelled in places like Sheffield and Lancaster due to the outspoken nature of his content.

The spokesperson said: "Chubby came from a tough start in life to become one of the most successful comedians in the world.

"Chubby’s real name is Royston Vasey which is the name of the village in the popular TV series “The League of Gentlemen” which highlights the respect that modern writers and comedians have for him.

"After a spell in the merchant navy, Roy decided to better himself and learnt to play ukulele, piano and drums.

“I tried the trumpet but it gave me toothache!"

Tickets are available to purchase at Worcestertheatres.co.uk with shows at 7.30pm.
