AN ICONIC film is being brought to life in concert at a popular West Midlands venue later this year for its thirtieth anniversary.

Jurassic Park In Concert is coming to Birmingham Resorts World Arena on Saturday, October 2, with tickets available to purchase from Friday, April 21.

The classic John Williams score which accompanied the Stephen Spielberg film is being performed live by a full orchestra.

The event, which is being brought to Birmingham by AEG Artistic, will see the film shown in high definition on a big screen, with the music of the Hallé Orchestra accompanying it.

David Butcher, chief executive of the Hallé Orchestra, said: “The Hallé is delighted to be a part of this tour celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of Jurassic Park.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for the Hallé to bring the highest quality orchestral music to an audience who may not have heard an orchestra perform live before.

"Jurassic Park’s score is iconic and gives the musicians the opportunity to showcase their work to new audiences away from the usual Concert Hall settings”.

The performance is opening at the Manchester AO Arena on Wednesday, October 18, before continuing to the Birmingham Resorts World, Leeds First Direct Arena, Nottingham Motorpoint, and concluding at the Liverpool M&S Bank Arena on October 29.

The Hallé was founded in Manchester by Sir Charles Hallé and gave its first concert in the Free Trade Hall on 30 January 1858.

The film was released to great critical acclaim in 1993 and was followed by a further two pictures in the franchise.

The franchise was later resurrected in 2015, 22 years after the release of Jurassic Park, in the form of the Jurassic World trilogy.
