A CRASH involving two cars closed a road near Worcester yesterday evening.

The crash on the A422 Broughton Hackett, meant there was no access to A422 from Upton Snodsbury, Churchill, or Crowle.

Worcestershire County Council's Highways and Travel team were supporting the emergency services in attendance, with the road closed between the March Hare and the Spetchley roundabout.

West Mercia Police, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service were all in attendance at the scene.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said there were four casualties in total that were invovled in the crash.

They said: "It was first reported to us at 7.02pm yesterday evening and two of our crews from Worcester attended to help make the vehicles safe.

"There was a total of four casualties involved, with two casualties being dealt with by the ambulance service.

"We left the scene in the hands of West Mercia Police who were responsible for the vehicle recovery and clearing the road.

"We left the scene at 8.20pm."

Police advised drivers to find an alternative route during the closure.
