A gas explosion near Pershore that left one person injured happened on a caravan park in Eckington.

Fire crews were called to Eckington Riverside Park at 2.15pm today (Friday, April 7) after an explosion in a caravan.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said there had been a small fire in the caravan but this had been extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.

Fire officers then set about investigating the cause of the explosion.
