A NEW glamping site will be built at a dairy farm after plans were backed by the council.
Churchfields Farm has received the green light from Wychavon District Council to build a new glamping and camping spot at the nearly 300-acre site in Salwarpe near Droitwich.
The work will see four new glamping pods – which are designed to look like farm animal shelters to fit in – installed alongside two new ‘amenity’ pods with showers and toilets for the camping site with space for around 14 pitches in total.
Putting forward the plan last year, the family-owned farm said it was having to ‘diversify’ into new ventures to support the farm with the glamping pods the latest addition.

Various plans to cater for tourists have been approved at the farm in recent years including an ice cream parlour, farm shop, children's play area and a maze.
Will Kerton from Churchfields Farm said: "We look forward to welcoming guests to the farm to stay and enjoy the setting of the Salwarpe Valley.
"The campsite is in the heart of the farm and a short walk from the cafe and play area.
"The camping will be aimed at families whilst the pods are over the crest of the hill and aimed more at couples.

"It will all be landscaped with wildflower meadows and local hedgerows so you will feel at one with nature. Lovely views are enjoyed over Worcestershire to the Malvern and Abberley Hills.
"Plans are to have the camping up and running for the summer and pods for the autumn."

Salwarpe Parish Council said it had concerns about the extra traffic that would be created by building the glamping site, particularly along the narrow country lanes around the farm, but highways officers at Worcestershire County Council said they were happy with the plans and raised no objection.
