A PERSON has been injured following a car crash which left a tree blocking a busy road.

Police officers, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene after a car crashed into a fallen tree opposite the Holt Fleet pub near Worcester.

Firefighter rescued the person from the car and they were left in the care of paramedics.

At 9pm last night the A4133 road was closed off,.

An eyewitness said the car was badly damaged.

They said: "There has been a crash outside the Holt Fleet.

"Police, fire, ambulance and ambulance car on the scene.

"Looks bad, there is a tree across the road and at least one car badly damaged. Not clear what’s happened as the road is shut.

"There was a wedding at the pub and people in the car park were looking at the scene.

"The tree was completely across the road."

The road has now been reopened.

A red car door and the remains of a fallen tree remain on the side of the road.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Droitwich fire and Worcester attended a road traffic collision involving one vehicle into a tree.

"The tree had fallen into the road.

"One casualty was rescued and left in the care of paramedics.

"Police were arranging the removal of trees on the roadway.

"We extricated one casualty following the collision with a tree that had fallen onto the roadway."
