PEOPLE can once again walk alongside a historic 'bulging' wall are repair work has been completed

In September 2022, Worcester City Council began work on the wall adjacent to London Road and beneath Fort Royal Park for public safety reasons.

The 8ft wall directly adjoins the park and was slowly bulging out into the footpath over the last six months.

The work has since been causing frequent traffic delays and members of the public to navigate around the footpath closure.

Repairs were originally only expected to take around three months, but bad weather delayed the work.

Along with the repairs to the wall, the pavement has also been freshly tarmacked.

A spokesperson for Worcestershire Highways said: "Footway resurfacing has been completed adjacent to the wall by Fort Royal Park.

"The remaining barriers and equipment on site are being collected tonight, and the footway will be fully reopened."
