A 26-YEAR-old woman caught drink driving in a BMW has been given a lengthy ban by magistrates. 

Miroslawa Klimaszewska, of Ulverston Green, Worcester, pleaded guilty to drink driving during her appearance at Worcester Magistrates Court. 

Eleanor Peart, prosecuting, said at 3.50am on March 12 this year police were called to a road traffic collision in Pershore Road, Evesham. 

Miss Peart said Klimaszewska, who had no previous convictions, had driven into the back of a parked car at 30mph.

After failing a roadside breathalyser test Klimaszewska gave an evidential sample at the police station of 75mcg in 100ml of breath. 

Klimaszewska, who defended herself, said at the time of the crash she went out after a shift and drank Jack Daniels and coke before being given other drinks. 

The defendant told magistrates she was driving home and took her eyes off the road as she was fiddling with the radio before going into the back of the car.

"I'm really sorry, I'm going to take any consequences," Klimaszewska added. 

Jayne Burton, chairman of the magistrates bench, told Klimaszewska she was being disqualified from driving for 17 months.

Klimaszewska was offered the chance to take the drink-drive awareness course which, if successfully completed, will reduce the ban length.

Klimaszewska said: "I will take anything because I really need to drive."

Klimaszewska was fined £415 and ordered to pay costs of £135 and victim surcharge of £166. 

The defendant was given 28 days to pay the total, £716, but it was explained to her she could speak to the fines collection office to spread out payment. 

The chairman warned non-payment could mean bailiffs were called in adding she could ultimately go to prison if it wasn't paid. 

The case was heard at the court on Thursday, (March 31).
