The Chamber is set to release their 2023-24 Business Manifesto tomorrow (Thursday, March 30) at their annual Economic Conference.

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce will release their 2023-24 Business Manifesto, detailing the priorities for local and national government, as identified by our local businesses during research carried out throughout the year.

The Economic Conference returns for 2023, this year sponsored by Patron Members of the Chamber, Bishop Fleming.

The Chamber’s annual Economic Conference will give business professionals the opportunity to connect with others and listen to representatives from across the community who will signpost support, outline existing projects and look ahead to 2023/24.

Guest speakers at the event include Shevaun Haviland, director general at the British Chambers of Commerce.

Shevaun will talk about the BCC’s work with and on behalf of Chamber Members across the country, their insights into the economic conditions and reflections on the budget, alongside their campaigning priorities for 2023/24.

Grahame Chaplin, the Bank of England’s Agent for the West Midlands and Oxfordshire will also be attending to speak at the event. Grahame will explain how the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) sets interest rates, in the current economic environment, to hit the two per cent CPI inflation target.

In particular, he will show how the MPC’s decision making is based on the outlook for the UK economy over the next two years – growth, employment and inflation – and where the key uncertainties lie.

Tom Barton, Co-founder of Honest Burgers is the third speaker at the event. Tom is one of the co-founders at Honest.

He is going to be talking about how he grew Honest from a marquee in a muddy field to a 44 site national brand.

Tom will share the highs and lows of growing a business and how they try to live up to their name by addressing their impact on the planet and working towards B Corp status.

Guests will also hear from representatives from the Chamber and have an exclusive opportunity to learn more about the new Manifesto.

Tickets are still available for the Economic Conference which takes place tomorrow (Thursday, March 30) between 8.30-11.30am at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Both Member and Non-member businesses can book on the Chamber’s website at www.hwchamber.co.uk/product/economic-conference-sponsored-by-bishop-fleming-2023-03-30/.
