A MAN has been charged after a police raid on a house near the city centre.
Mhill Asani, age 30, was arrested and charged with the production of a controlled drug.
Asani has since been bailed and is set to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court today (Monday).
Eyewitnesses said there was a large police presence on Chestnut Street on Saturday (March 25).
Residents said they were left without electricity and believe the power was turned off during the raid.
Workers were called to the scene after services were disconnected in the pavement on safety grounds after the mains cable had been tampered with.
National Grid workers were on-site working on a large hole on the pavement at about 5.10pm.
A spokesperson from West Mercia Police said: "Shortly after 8am on Saturday 25 March officers executed a drugs warrant at a property on Chestnut Street in Worcester.
Mhill Asani, 30, of Chestnut Street, Worcester has been charged with production of a controlled drug.
"He was bailed to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court today (27 March 2023)."

A spokesperson said: "The police contacted us at 10.55am on Saturday, March 25 requesting assistance to isolate a supply where the meter had been bypassed.
"The service was then disconnected in the pavement on safety grounds as our mains cable had been tampered with.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers."
