A 24-YEAR-old was caught by city police hiding a knife in her bra, a court heard.
Caprice De-Bishoppe, of Crickley Drive, Worcester, was told by magistrates her offences were so serious only a custodial sentence was justified for the crime.
Azeifna Adams, prosecuting, said police were called to a concern for safety but on arrival at a flat in Chedworth Drive, Worcester, they found De-Bishoppe heavily intoxicated and she refused to engage with them.
Eventually, after the 24-year-old left the property, De-Bishoppe was shouting in the street, stumbling around and at one point was on the floor refusing to move.
The prosecutor said after being arrested De-Bishoppe revealed to an officer she had a kitchen knife hidden in her bra.
A police officer searched her, finding the knife and also cannabis.
The offences took place in the early hours of Saturday, February 11.
The prosecutor said De-Bishoppe told police she had the knife on her for her own protection as she went out alone at night but did also have it as she self-harmed.
De-Bishoppe admitted possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, being drunk and disorderly and possession of a class B drug during the hearing on Thursday, (March 23).
Elle-May Macey, defending, said the defendant had been the one to originally call police.
The solicitor explained the defendant co-operated until her partner said she couldn't have her dog.
"She became upset," Miss Macey said.
"The dog helps with her anxiety. She has numerous mental health conditions."
Elaine Bell, chairman of the magistrates bench, said: "The offences are so serious, particularly the knife offence, that a prison sentence is the only suitable sentence."

De-Bishoppe was jailed for eight months, but the sentence was suspended for two years.
The chairman told the defendant if she kept out of trouble for the next two years she would not need to worry - but De-Bishoppe was warned if she committed a further offence she risked going to prison.

"Is that clear?" the chairman asked.
"Yes," the defendant replied.
De-Bishoppe was fined £50 and ordered to pay victim surcharge of £187.
An offer for the £237 total to be deducted from her benefits at a rate of £20 per month was accepted by the magistrates.
