Alison Hammond has been lined up as the new host of The Great British Bake Off, according to reports.
Previous presenter Matt Lucas had departed after the last series of the Channel 4 show, leaving them looking for someone to partner up with Noel Fielding.
Bosses of the broadcaster are expected to announce her as Fielding’s co-presenter within days, reports have said.
As reported by The Mirror, one source said: “Alison is a great choice. She will bring warmth and humour to the tent in spades. We’re laughing just thinking about it.”
Alison Hammond's TV career
Hammond first achieved fame by appearing as a contestant on Big Brother back in 2002, where she became the second housemate to be evicted from the third series.
That same year she was signed up as a roving reporter for This Morning on ITV and has been there ever since.
She also occasionally hosts the daytime show alongside Dermot O'Leary.
Hammond has appeared on many celebrity gameshows since Big Brother, including Celebrity Masterchef, Strictly Come Dancing and Celebs Go Dating.
In fact she even featured on The Great British Bake Off as a contestant for its Stand Up 2 Cancer special in 2020.
She went up against James Blunt, Alex Jones and Joe Sugg on that episode.
People may have also seen Hammond present the 2023 BAFTA alongside Richard E.Grant in February.
