THERE are severe traffic delays across Worcester due to a serious incident on the M5 motorway.
A person has died this morning near junction six (Worcester) and the motorway was completely shut.
The southbound carriageway was reopened about an hour ago and the northbound has just reopened.
However, there are currently delays of 90 minutes.
There are delays around Sixways roundabout and surrounding roads including the A449 from Claines and the A4538 towards Hindlip.
Congestion has built up is around the A4440 and other surrounding roads on the eastern side of Worcester (Warndon/Whittington) due to the closure of the M5 .

Southbound is fully open.
On approach to the northbound closure is a motorbike fire in lane 3. @hwfire are en-route to scene.

Bus users are also being warned of delays to the 144 service.
A spokesperson for FirstWorcester said: "Due to the closure of the M5 at J6, we are expecting congestion to affect several areas including Wychbold, Copcut Elm and Rashwood. We do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
Traffic is being released from the road but people have been asked to avoid the area.
There is also a motorbike fire in lane three, which Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are heading to.
There is currently a 90- minute delay between junctions eight and six.
