BOMB disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion of a grenade pulled out of a canal near Sixways by magnet fishers.

Police officers and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD) closed off Offerton Lane in Hindlip and conducted a  controlled explosion.

Kingfisher Magneteers, a Redditch-based group of magnet fishers, said they pulled the unexploded grenade from the canal yesterday (Sunday).
