A BMW driver has avoided losing his licence after being ordered to pay over £2,000 for speeding on the same road three times.

Alexander Hollingworth, 41, was caught by a speed camera driving in a BMW 4 Series on the A449 heading northbound between Crossway Green and Hartlebury on Thursday, June 16.

Hollingworth, of Elmley Lovett near Droitwich, was caught on the same stretch of road on Friday, July 15 and also on Sunday, July 17.

He pleaded guilty to all three counts at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, March 8.

It was deemed by the magistrates that the loss of his driving licence will cause the loss of his job.

This would have caused exceptional financial hardship to his wife and young children who rely upon his ability to finance the mortgage of the house they reside in and to also afford private school education.

Hollingworth was fined £538 and was made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £645.

He was also made to pay costs of £110 and his driving record was endorsed with three points.

He has until Saturday, April 8 to pay the total balance of £2369.
