A 37-YEAR-old thief who went on a stealing frenzy including taking a fridge worth hundreds of pounds failed to appear at Worcester Crown Court for his sentencing.
A warrant has now been issued for the arrest of Stephen Collett, formerly of Worcester and now of Franche Road, Wolverley, Kidderminster.
Collett did not turn up at court when his case was called on Tuesday morning (March 7).
He was due to be sentenced for four thefts of a shop, burglary and assault by beating.
The thefts took place in Kidderminster between December 10 last year and February 4 this year.
Collett stole:
- Two packs of lightbulbs valued at £6.98 from Spar
- A dog lead, dog collar, and a packet of dog flea care from Tesco
- An electric toothbrush, valued at £90, from Tesco
- A £150 jacket from Mountain Warehouse.

Collett committed assault by beating on January 17 this year in Kidderminster.
And Collett also burgled Spar in Marlpool Lane, Kidderminster, stealing the Red Bull can drinks chiller worth £800 on February 4 this year.

His case was adjourned last month for a pre-sentence report but, during the latest hearing, a probation service representative reported Collett had not shown up for his appointment, and the report had not been completed.
After a court clerk confirmed there had no contact with Collett, the chairman of the magistrates bench, Andrew Greenway, issued a warrant.
