THE Princess Royal visited a Worcester business earlier today with the managing director describing it as 'an absolute honour' to welcome her.

Princess Anne visited award-winning Green Lighting Limited at Great Western Business Park in Worcester.

The Royal remembered the business from a previous and took an interest in the way it was moving forward.

Princess Anne was given a police escort on her way to the business in Tolladine.

She was also due to attend engagements in Kidderminster and Pershore.

Anthony Ottway, MD of GL, said: “It was an absolute honour and privilege to welcome Princess Anne to GL. Everyone was thrilled to be part of her visit.

“Having been awarded the Princess Royal Training Award several years ago, it was lovely to hear that she remembered us and was keen to learn more about how the company has developed since then.”

Princess Anne was slightly delayed and arrived at 1.37 pm, accompanied by a police escort, transported in the back of a black Range Rover.

The cavalcade came up Sheriff Street where police stopped traffic so the cars and motorbikes could safely pass to Mackenzie Way, off Tolladine Road.
