A MAN terrorised his former partner by hitting her and threatening to kill her ignoring a court order preventing him from any contact with his victim.
Benjamin Parkinson, formerly of Worcester, was given a lengthy prison sentence by a judge who told him his "catalogue of offences" were aggravated by having a history of violence.
Parkinson appeared at Worcester Crown Court to be sentenced for making a threat to kill, ABH, theft, breach of a non-molestation order, possession of a knife, possession of cannabis and racially aggravated harassment/alarm/distress all of which were committed between May and September 2021 in Worcester.
Prosecutor Ian Windridge went through all the offending that included the 33-year-old pushing the victim against the wall with her suffering a lump on her forehead; punching her knee; and placing a pillow over her mouth.
The prosecutor said, in the threat to kill offence, Parkinson's victim had a panic button as part of a non-molestation order that was meant to stop him going near her city home.

Parkinson told the victim that pressing the button would mean it would take six minutes for the police to come to her home.
Parkinson said: "I could slit your throat in that time", the court heard.
Mr Windridge said: "Given she knew he was unpredictable, that was a threat she took seriously - she thought she would be harmed."
Mr Windridge said the victim of the racially aggravated offence was a Polish police officer who was transporting the defendant in a van.

The court heard Parkinson had 62 previous convictions including for battery, robbery, possession of bladed articles and public order offences.
Aimee Parkes, defending, highlighted that Parkinson had been remanded in custody since September 2021, so had effectively already served an 18-month jail sentence.
Miss Parkes said at the time of the offending he had suffered a mental health episode and was receiving medication for the mental health issues he suffers from.
Miss Parkes added: "He accepts these are serious offences.
"I ask you keep the (jail) sentence as low as possible."
His Honour Judge Nicholas Cartwright said the offences were aggravated by his record, as well as the domestic violence setting and that some of his offences were committed while on bail.
He jailed Parkinson for three years and four months.
The judge gave Parkinson an eight-year restraining order which he said would provide the "minimum protection from violence" to the victim.
The case was heard on Friday, (February 24).
