The following cases were heard at Worcester Magistrates Court recently.

 

A burglar who broke into a Subway sandwich shop before biting a police officer was jailed by Worcester magistrates. 

Lewis Ilsley, of Coppice Close, Hallow, committed the offences last month just 24 hours after being given a suspended jail sentence. 

The 44-year-old threw stock around the shop and tried to steal cash from the store, but found an empty till. 

When officers came to arrest him he bit one of them. 

Ilsley was jailed for one-year.

A TOPLESS man went on a rampage before being stopped by police with a knife. 

Ricky Smith, of Poolbrook Road, Malvern, caused chaos at the Beauchamp Arms pub which he was barred from. 

The 32-year-old squared up to customers before assaulting the pub's landlady. 

Smith also picked up a chair smashing it on the floor. 

When police finally arrested Smith a few hours later he had a knife on him, magistrates heard.

Christopher McCabe, of Rectory Road, Upton-upon-Severn, was ordered to pay compensation to an Upton hotel after damaging a window. 

The 18-year-old caused the damage on January 10 this year at The Star Inn Hotel in Upton.

McCabe was given a one-year conditional discharge and told to pay compensation of £100 to the hotel.

AND a man who took a knife into a city bar and flashed it round in view of drinkers on a night out narrowed avoided going to prison.

Ryan MacDonald, of Bridge Street, Worcester, told doorstaff at Keystones Cocktail Club he was carrying the knife before it was confiscated from him.

The 29-year-old was jailed for six months but this period was suspended for two years.
