DRIVERS have been left frustrated by the copious amounts of road works taking place in Worcester recently.
Temporary lights have been causing traffic chaos on London Road while Cadent Gas is carrying out repair works.
Road works have also been taking place on Bath Road, Shrubbery Avenue, Tudor Way on Dines Green, and Astwood Road this month.
Drivers have noticed an increase in roadworks taking place recently and now Worcestershire County Council has revealed why this is the case.
The council said more road works are being carried out because it's half-term and there is less traffic on the road.

A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: "The County Council always seeks to plan and manage roadworks to minimise delays to the travelling public and the most disruptive works are generally planned during school holidays where traffic is reduced.

"It is not always possible however to schedule all activities within school holidays and some of the current works in Worcester are emergency works, which need to be completed at the earliest opportunity."
