Martley drugs raid as detective warns 'luck will run out'

Alexander Greening was jailed for 32 months for both importing and dealing drugs when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court earlier this month.

We can now show what police found in his flat above Martley Central Stores as his varied drug enterprise came unstuck, including drugs with a play on the term 'Netflix and Chill' - replaced with 'Ketflix and Pills'.

The raid was carried out by West Mercia Police after drugs imported by the 22-year-old were intercepted by Border Force.

DI Dave Knight, of Proactive CID based at Worcester Police Station, said the result showed how closely different organisations worked and co-operated to cut off the flow of drugs.

He added: "This was an investigation by South Worcestershire patrol officers who undertook a detailed investigation which culminated in a decent result in court.

"It doesn't matter where you get the drugs from.

"It doesn't matter where you are with the drugs - you have got to be lucky every time. We have to be lucky once.

"We work with other police forces and with Border Force, to stem the flow of drugs into Britain and across county lines.

"Peddling drugs is inherently risky as is using drugs that have not been tested.

"In South Worcestershire we have a solid support network in place for drug users and we can signpost as and when required.

"Drugs dealers will be signposted to the prison service."

We previously reported how Greening admitted 10 different drug charges including the importation, supply and possession of class A drugs when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Thursday, January 5.

Greening received the jail sentence on Tuesday, February 7.

In total, the offences involved eight different drugs but Greening was thwarted by checks by Border Force officers who intercepted the drugs en route to his address. 

Greening had been listed at an address in Martley but gave his address to the court as Elmdale Road, off Cornmeadow Lane, in Worcester. 

He admitted three charges of importing a controlled drug of class A to which a prohibition applies - Bromodimethoyhphenethylamine (class A) on April 20 last year; Oxycodone (class A) on May 19 last year and cocaine (class A) on June 23 last year.

The suited defendant further admitted three charges of possession with intent to supply drugs on August 13 last year - class A drug MDMA (also known as ecstasy), Psilocin (class A), Psilocin (class A) and Eutylone (class B).

He also admitted three charges of simple possession of drugs on August 13 last year - cocaine (class A), Ketamine (class B) and Diazepam (class C).

No separate penalty for the possession and intent to supply charges. Victim surcharge £190 payable within three months of release from prison.
