Choir singers battled it out in a pancake race around Worcester Cathedral.
Choristers ran through the hallowed halls of the iconic city landmark as the popular tradition to mark Shrove Tuesday made its return.
With Pancake Day falling on half term, the decision was made to host the tradition a little earlier than usual, on Wednesday, February 15.

The two teams were made up of the two sides of the cathedral choir, Cantoris lead by the Precentor and Decani lead by the Dean.
Competitors donned their cassocks and grabbed their frying pans as they raced around the Cathedral’s medieval cloisters.
Having to overcome obstacles all while flipping pancakes, the two sides competed to see who could compete the course the fastest as students from King’s St Albans lined the halls to cheer them on.
In the end it was Team Cantoris who came out on top, redemption for the side who suffered defeat last year.

Captain of the winning team, the Precentor, Canon John Paul Hoskins said: “It was an honour to be on the winning team for my second pancake race as Precentor, following the disappointment of my inaugural race last year.
“Decani put up a brave fight, but there can only be one winner on the day. Well done, to all involved!”
