A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she suffered injuries during a kitchen fire at a flat.
The woman was in a flat on Lawnside Road, Ledbury, with a teenage boy when a fire broke out in her kitchen yesterday (Sunday).
West Midlands Ambulance Service and fire crews from Ledbury and Malvern went to the scene.
The woman was found with non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Hereford County Hospital.
The teenage boy was uninjured.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called by the fire service to a fire at an address on Lawnside Road at 2.18pm on Sunday.
"One ambulance attended the scene.
"Upon arrival, crews assessed a woman who was found to have sustained non-life threatening injuries.
"She was conveyed to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment.”
Fire crews were called to the scene at 2pm and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFR) also used a thermal image camera to inspect the affected area.
A spokesperson for HWFR said: “Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called out to Lawnside Road, Ledbury, on Sunday at 2pm to a house fire.
“Crews from Ledbury and Malvern attended to the fire located in the kitchen of a flat.
“It was extinguished using a hose reel jet, and a thermal image camera was used to inspect the area.
“Two people, a woman and a teenage boy were left in the care of the ambulance, and the incident was marked as closed for HWFRS at 4.48pm.”
