The reason why water in a Malvern stream is looking rusty has been revealed.
Water on the bank in the stream in the Spring Garden, in Great Malvern’s Priory Park, has an orangey, rust-coloured hue at the moment.
According to Malvern Hills District Council, this is because it is naturally occurring spring water that is high in iron.

“The soil around it is likely to contain bacteria which oxidise the iron and cause the rusty colour that you can see on the surface,” the council said.
