A FLORIST received orders from all over the world on Valentine's Day but was unable to fulfil them as it doesn't do postal deliveries.

Silver Birch at BHGS, based at Vale Park, has become an international internet sensation after sharing a photo of a huge bouquet of flowers it created ahead of Valentine's Day.

Orders started to come in from as far as New Zealand and America but the florist only delivers around Evesham.

Co-owners Haley Roden and Rachel Lathen joined forces just over a year ago when they decided to combine their florists together to save their businesses.

Ms Roden said: "Not for one minute did we expect to go viral.

"We were receiving calls from New Zealand, America, Manchester, and one lady called from Ledbury who did not have a florist near her, so she popped in to pick one up.

"It was a big shock, we were excited and loved reading everyone's comments.

"It was very exciting receiving calls from across the world."

The team had been working all across the weekend to make their enormous bouquets in time for valentines day.

By 10am on February 15, its Facebook post had been liked almost 66,000 times with over 4,000 comments from all across the world and over 800 shares.

Since Monday, the team received huge volumes of calls enquiring about their flowers.

The florist became so busy it had to to start turning people away.

They sold 101 bouquets and seven big ones. Bouquets start at £36.50 and go up to £130 for the biggest.

Ms Roden said the business does not do postal bouquets because customers get fewer flowers and the price of the postage.

She added that with Brexit limiting their imports and the impact of Covid closing the business, they would have closed for good if not for the support of old and new customers.

"We had to come together to save a business.

"With the cost of living crisis, Silber Birch would not have survived."

Across Valentines Day, the business received orders for proposals, and one was to celebrate a couple finding out they were having a baby girl.

Silver Birch at BHGS will be ready to create more of the giant bouquets come Mother’s Day, which is March 19.
