A KEY witness has come forward to speak to police after an elderly man was racially abused and assaulted near Sainsbury's supermarket.
Police in Worcester appealed for a key witness to come forward after a man in his 70s was assaulted and racially abused in Warndon, Worcester.
The victim suffered facial injuries as a result of the incident, his glasses were also broken.
West Mercia Police confirmed that key witness has now spoken to the police and thanked the public for their support.
A spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal last Friday in Worcester for a key witness.
"The key witness has now come forward to speak to officers."

The incident happened on Tuesday, February 7 at around 7.30pm.

The victim was walking along the alleyway between Sainsbury's supermarket and Randwick Close in Warndon when he was assaulted and racially abused.
Officers were appealing for help from anyone who lives nearby that may have CCTV or dash-cam footage to review the footage.
