The Worcester News was contacted by a local business owner on St Swithin's Street who wished to remain anonymous following the incident.
They claimed that the attack was "eight vs one" and was "surprised" police had not asked their business for CCTV.
They said: "The attack was by the Greggs on the corner of St Swithin's Street and the High Street.
"It was terrible, there were about eight of them all attacking one man. They were punching the man and stamping on his head.
"I am incredibly surprised that the police have not come to us and asked to view CCTV. It just does not seem right at all."
The business owner claimed that they had spoken to the police previously about anti-social behaviour issues in the city centre.

They said: "We have spoken to police about anti-social behaviour incidents in the past and they have told us about banning orders and warnings, but often it seems they are restricted due to the ages of those involved.
"As a local business owner, it is really concerning as we want the area to be safe and attractive for customers but if there are incidents like this people will not want to visit the city centre."
