The city centre is set to be lit up once again in creative and interesting ways.

Light Night Worcester is returning on Wednesday, February 22 and Thursday, February 23 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

The event is being put on by the Arches Worcester Festivals team and is free to attend.

Cathedral Square will be filled by giant desk lamps called Lampounette, who will be turning their heads to light up buildings, trees and even passers-by.

They are the work of French artists TILT, who say the coloured beams show off different points of views in a joyful way.

At 7.30pm on the High Street, you’ll be able to catch Picto Facto’s illuminated street theatre show Stobilophones.

The show features inflatable puppets, dancers and singers who love encountering and disrupting their audiences.

This is the first time the show will be performed in the UK.

Throughout the two evenings, visitors will also be able to experience Colony by Mike Blow at St Martin’s Quarter.

Large, tactile, sonic sculptures transform the landscape and allow the audience to experience the physicality of sound.

At Cornmarket, Light Looper sees four players working together to accelerate a particle of light on a journey from earth to sky.

And in The Shambles, Echelle sees a five-metre neon pink ladder offering a fantasy escape route.

Butterfly Dream at St Swithun’s Church invites you to reflect on life while gazing at the butterflies hand-made from bio-resin, while you can Windows of Light at The Unicorn Hotel in Angel Place.

Shows lasting 45 minutes are being put on in a couple of locations - you can catch the towering, alien-like Lumens in High Street at 6.45pm and at 8.30pm.

And FlameOz’s spectacular Fire Duo routine at 7pm and 8.30pm in Angel Place.

A food zone will be open from 5pm to 9.30pm on Cornmarket car park, featuring The Beefy Boys, No Frickin Chicken, Cheeky Maharaja, Neighbourhood Deli and Yum Sweet Treats.
