A MAJOR road leading into Worcester city centre is set to close for nearly two weeks due to roadworks.
Newtown Road, Ronkswood, will be closed between the junction with Sheriff Street and Midland Road from the week commencing February 13.
The work is due to new ducting being installed by City Fibre, with the closure set to be enforced for 12 days.

Emergency access will be maintained on the road at all times during the closure, but drivers are being asked to use Sherrif Street, Tolladine Road and Shrub Hill Road to reroute their journeys.
Signs are in place on Newtown Road for drivers informing them of the upcoming closure.
The closure is due to be lifted on Friday, February 24.
Newtown Road is a major road connecting the city centre to Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Ronkswood and Warndon Villages.
