A MAN who once refused to participate in the hearing of a case as a Worcester News court reporter was in the courtroom did not appear for his latest hearing.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Paul Sheward after he failed to turn up for his scheduled court hearing on Thursday, (January 26).
The 35-year-old, of Sansome Place, Worcester and previously of Kidderminster, is accused of one charge of theft from a shop.
It is alleged Sheward stole £234 worth of goods from Boots in Worcester High Street on January 4 this year.
Sheward was set to appear at 2pm but after 3pm the court clerk called his case on and it became clear he hadn't attended.
The clerk told magistrates: "We have not heard from him".

Chairman of the magistrates bench, Ian Latimer, said they decided to issue a warrant without bail in his case.
In 2018 we reported that Paul Sheward appeared on a videolink to the court.

In that hearing, when he was asked to confirm his name and address, instead Sheward answered by asking twice whether a court reporter was present.
When a court clerk confirmed there was a reporter in the courtroom, Sheward said: "I am not prepared to go any further", and walked out the videolink booth.
