"Due to the amount of blood located officers were concerned for the injured person. Officers managed to identify who the phone belonged to and so attended the home address to check on their welfare.
"There was more blood found on the path near to the front door of the property. Officers attempted to raise the occupant inside but were unable to and so entry was forced into the property. Inside a male was located with a nasty head injury in a semi-conscious and confused state. Officers then requested an ambulance to attend the property to assess the male's injuries. The male was then taken to hospital as a result.
"At this stage we believe the male had sustained his injuries as a result of a fall at the stairs located in the alleyway at the top of Stanway close. There is currently no criminal investigation into the matter."
