AN UNLUCKY couple have been the victims of a car crash after their parked car was smashed into yet again.

Heather Hodges and Kevan Hughes, of Laugherne Road, St John's, are now calling for more enforcement after a Land Rover crashed into their parked car on Sunday afternoon (January 22).

Miss Hodges said it is not the first time a car has careered into theirs and called for action on the 'notorious' road.

She said: "This road is notorious, we have had three crashes in the last 14 months.

"Our CCTV showed the car crashing into my partner's parked car.

"Nothing surprises me with this road.

"I would like some kind of traffic enforcement but I just do not know what the answer is.

"My other half works nights so really we do not want double yellows out here.

"People have said bring the speed down to 20mph but when people are not even noticing it should 30mph what is bringing it down to 20mph going to do?"

Miss Hodges was not at home at the time of the crash with a neighbour breaking the bad news over the phone.

She said: "My partner and I were not at home when it happened and my next door neighbour had to call to say 'I have some bad news for you'.

"By the time I got here, there were police and an ambulance in the road.

"Somebody said she had a tyre blowout but there doesn't seem to be any marks at all on the road suggesting that.

"When I got the call I knew what it was going to be straight away.

"It is what it is. I only put the CCTV up outside our home in the first place as one night somebody keyed all the cars along the road.

"In recent years we have had other crashes to previous cars, including a drink driver on one occasion."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said an elderly woman who was driving was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "At around 5.10pm on Sunday 22 January officers received a report of a one-vehicle collision on Laugherne Road, Worcester. Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and the Ambulance service also attended the scene.

"The driver of the car had minor injuries."
