PAINTINGS at a popular National Trust site near Worcester have had to be specially cleaned after the discovery of mould.
Hanbury Hall confirmed that mould had been discovered on the family portraits at the site due to "environmental conditions and humidity".
A spokesperson said the collections team has had to undergo cleaning training with a "specialist paintings conservator".
"The collections team have been undergoing painting cleaning training with a specialist paintings conservator this week," the spokesperson said.
"They have discovered mould on the family portraits which has occurred due to environmental conditions and humidity.
"The mould has now been carefully removed."

Hanbury Hall is a country retreat in the heart of Worcestershire with original wall paintings by Sir James Thornhill.
The original formal gardens were designed by George London.
