Pub landlord Adrian McArthur said it got to the point where the bills were going from hundreds of pounds to thousands, forcing him to make the decision to close.

He said: "Due to the cost of living crisis, bills like gas, electricity and general living have risen from hundreds to thousands and it just reaches a point where you have to say enough is enough.

"We were actually going to close last year in November but the landlady of the building was able to help us out with the rent.

"I have been at the pub for the last three years. We took the lease on January 17 2020, just before the pandemic started.

"Since then the things the challenges the pub has had to go through have been incredibly tough."
