A POPULAR fish and chip shop is "closed until further notice" following an accident.
The Newtown Fryer, on Ronkswood Hill, has not been able to open due to "accidental damage to the shop".
A notice on the Newtown Fryer website and on the FoodHub website reads: "Sorry, we’re currently closed.
"We are closed till further notice due to accidental damage to the shop.
"We are really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."
Visible damage can be seen on the shutters outside the building and a window has also been smashed.

A neighbour of the business on Ronkswood Hill said: "I don't think they have closed for good.
"There was an incident a while back where someone reversed their car into the front of the shop.
"I think they just need the damage repaired."
Worcester News has attempted to contact the business but has not yet received a response.
Newtown Fryer came in second place for the Worcester News Best Chip Shop 2021.
First place, went to Hooked Fish & Chips in St John's.
